WHAT TO EXPECT
When you are looking for a veterinary care clinic, you should be able to count on superior care and excellent service. Santee's Cuyamaca Animal Hospital has assembled an expert team of veterinary professionals to bring you the best possible healthcare for your pet. We have Fear Free certified professionals on our team and focus a lot of our training and practice on ensuring a low-stress environment for your pets. We have a state of the art veterinary facility which now has a larger surgery area to accommodate more surgeries, a formal recovery area where a nurse sits with the patient until he/she is up & walking around, a new retail center, a comfort suite, and an outdoor garden euthanasia area.
Cuyamaca Animal Hospital also keeps dogs and cats separated to keep all pets' stress levels down. There is a separate cat entrance and lobby, a separate cat only treatment area, and cat only exam rooms. This area is a lot quieter than the rest of the hospital to ensure the emotional health of all of our patients.
Once a year, you should take your pet in for a check-up. This wellness exam includes a full physical exam and may also include diagnostic tests such as blood work or X-rays if needed. The veterinarians will check the health of your pet from head to tail, advise you on the best plan for your pet's overall health, and address any questions or concerns you might have.
Bring in any medical history you have of your pet when you come to visit us. It's best to keep a journal of your pet's health throughout his or her life, including behavioral shifts. If not, let us know everything that you think will be important. Our doctors will work with whatever information you have.
We have the capacity and expertise to perform simple and complex surgeries, hospitalizations, or specialized treatments at a fraction of the cost of specialty hospitals. However, in some circumstances, our veterinarians may refer you to a specialist who has advanced expertise in areas such as internal medicine or specialized surgery.
