Veterinarian Dr Naidus in Memoriam
Where do I begin??? Well, it all started in Detroit Michigan on a hot summer day early in July. Near the intersection of 8 mile road I started on my journey that lead me to San Diego, Ca. After an uneventful grade school and a busy high school experience I headed off to Michigan state university… GO SPARTANS!! I graduated in December of 1974, YES I SAID 74!!! My first veterinary job was in Pittsburgh Penn., where I was part of a busy 4 man practice, the hills and freezing weather drove me west, in my quest to follow the sun and stay warm! I landed in San Diego and began my job in El Cajon where I remained for 30 yrs!! After so many years I find I can continue to grow and learn and take care of God’s creatures, and am now a very happy member of the Cuyamaca veterinary team, where I plan to continue my career another 30 years at least!

Stephanie's love for animals combined with her strong will to learn and familiarity with the field made her an obvious choice for our team. Customer Service Katei
I was born and raised in Slidell, Louisiana just outside of New Orleans. My family bred Catahoulas for showing and all of our dogs were NALC registered.
Growing up with an adventurous dad I got to have some weird pets: squirrels, possums, frogs, turtles, sugar babies, salamanders, skinks, and lots of lizards- so I love all animals. I’m not afraid of any kind of creature except bugs.
Hurricane Katrina brought me to San Diego in 2005, but I moved back home immediately after. In December of 2010 I returned to San Diego to stay.
Some people call me the “Crazy dog lady” because I am obsessed and love dogs more than anything. My ultimate goal is to have my own non breed specific rescue one day.
I am huge nerd: I love LOTR, Dr Who, anything with supernatural abilities, Marvel Comics, and of course Star Wars. My two dogs, Clementine and Tatertot, are my whole world. I am the go-to for anything related to corgis.
I also love anything to do with the water: swimming, scuba diving (I was certified at 17y.o.), boating, fishing, wakeboarding, etc. Totally wish I was a mermaid. lol. I am very goofy and am always singing.

I was born and raised in San Diego. I grew up mostly in Alpine where I had horses, goats, ducks, bunnies, cats and dogs. I attended Granite Hills high school. My son, Damian is my world, along with my husband and my love for animals. I’m an advocate for the pit bull breed and have rescued five. I have wanted to work with animals ever since I was very young. I have worked in the hospitality business the majority of my life and have been employed at the Brigantine for many years.
I went to PIMA, which is an accredited school to get my associates degree in veterinary assistance and also for veterinary technician. I worked hard and earned my license and became a registered veterinary technician. My dream is to one day own my own rescue ranch on a large piece of property where I can give animals a loving life the last years of their lives, especially the ones who come from unfortunate situations.

Amanda has had an extreme passion for animals since she was a little girl. She recalls sneaking strays into her room as a little girl to play doctor. She knew when she grew up she would definitely be doing something with animals.
In 2010 she fulfilled her dream and went to school to be a veterinary technician, graduating at the top of her class. After completing school she began working at an emergency and specialty hospital, and received a very good solid foundation for her career. She later realized though that she wanted to be in a day-practice environment so she could build relationships with clients, and be able to see our four-legged friends grow up throughout their life. Amanda also occasionally works with a large animal vet and enjoys the beautiful and surreal ranch environment.
Amanda feels that it is a true blessing to be able to wake up every day knowing she loves what she does, and is able to go to work to fulfill her dream of working with animals, incredible doctors, and her large family of technicians.
Resort Staff Tori
Tori first met Dr Martin when she was 7 years old. Tori and her family had adopted a cat named Sparkles, who had become ill. Tori's mom wanted to teach her and her sister the responsibilities of being a pet parent so they were involved in the process of Sparkles' long term treatments. This experience helped shape the young woman Tori would become.
Tori joined Furry Friends Resort as soon as she was old enough for a work permit and has been a member of our team ever since. Her love for animals shows through her hard work and dedication. Tori shares her life with her canine son Carlos, and her two kitties, Blue and Pipsqueak. She is currently going to college and hopes to one day get into vet school.

Carly jokes that while in college her primary focus was on getting a puppy instead of her schoolwork. Carly enjoys spending time with family, and of course that includes Ava. Cuyamaca Animal Hospital and Furry Friends Resort would not be the same without Carly's warm smile and hard work.
Resort Staff Ashley
Ashley, a native San Diegan, is the daughter of a long term client of Dr Martin. As a child, whether she was running around with the dogs in the back yard or playing with one of her many rodents and reptiles, Ashley always knew she wanted to spend her life taking care of animals. A few years after her older sister, Stephanie, started working at the hospital, Ashley finally got the chance to follow in her sisters footsteps and join the Cuyamaca family. While her family has given a loving home to more than a few canine friends, her special lil guy is a miniature schnauzer named Tucker.
Resort Staff Nikol H.
I was about 5 years old when I started bringing my cats and dogs into see Dr. Martin with my mom, and I could never miss a visit to the vet because I loved to see all the animals and be with my pets in their time of need.
In middle school I joined the 4-H program with my three older brothers raising beef cattle in my backyard to sell at the East County Junior Fair, and when I attended El Capitan High School I joined the FFA program also raising beef cattle and pigs at the same fair. At the fair I received 1st place showmanship awards and even went onto master showmanship rounds.
In high school I loved to cheer and dance but most of all I always loved my animals. I got my big puppy Chiefy (I call him my doogie) my freshman year of high school and he's been my best friend ever since. I dream of being a singer, dancer, actress, wedding planner, and a cheer coach but my goal in life is to spread kindness and save animals from being beaten and neglected, and to show people they have a voice and feelings just like us.
